Last night I had a bit of a scare.
My Australian new neighbour S rang the doorbell at 9.30 pm. Actually he was ringing all the door bells on our street but it being vacation season most people are away. There was an emergency and I rushed with him to find my next door elderly neighbour lifeless on the floor in his sittingroom. S's girlfriend was there and already in contact with 911 (112 in Sweden) over the cellphone. With the help of the 911 staff she and I performed CPR on my sweet neighbour until the ambulance arrived and took over. Sadly he didn't make it and passed away at the age of 87.
I feel sad that we weren't able to recussitate him but I also feel proud that we were able to try. If you have the opportunity to learn how to perform CPR, please do so, it may save a life. It was really, really scary but it felt good to at least be able to do something. Google "CPR training" to find a class near you.
