Yesterday I showed you the wardrobe and Martin's unmentionables. I knew you'd enjoy that part :) Today I'm showing you what's inside of the chest of drawers and will also tell you how I store seasonal clothes to answer Ivice's question.

The chest of drawers itself is one of the few antiques in our home. It's kind of banged up and has a bad paintjob and some of the hardware is missing. I still like it. It's really well made structurally considering it's age and it hides loads of stuff. Also it's Mini's favourite spot where she can look out onto the apple trees and make sure there are no trespassers in our garden.

In all fairness, here are my delicates. They are stored in the top drawer. Undies to the left, socks in the middle and tops and bras to the right. What I like about the drawers is that there are dividers built in. I did need a few more so the little steps and sheer knee socks (how uncool are they?) are stored in milky white ice cream containers which I've put blue tack underneath to prevent them from sliding around. To glam the knee socks and ice cream containers up slightly there is an Hermes scarf in there too.
The middle drawer is divided into three equal parts. In the left one I keep a small sewing kit, toilet bags etc. The middle one is filled with Martin's bandana collection, belts and cellphone thingy's. The right compartment is mine. I keep vests there and at the front, the hairdyer on top of my belts.
The bottom drawer is fairly empty as I edited a lot of unused bags recently. There are still a few and also a box full of Martins little nick nacks, like watches, cufflinks, old wallets etc.
When it comes to storing out of season clothes I do like this:
I flip the lighter garment piles to the bottom of the wardrobe in the summer and store woolens and heavier things at the top which is pretty much out of reach without a stool. In the fall I switch. I also keep mittens, scarves and hats in white boxes on the very top shelf under the ceiling.

Coats and heavy jackets, ski pants and boots are stored in the basement under the stairs. I sewed slipcovers out of old sheets to go over the hangers on some of the less often used coats and jackets.
The cover has an eyelet at the top to allow for the hanger to come out. I think I got this idea from one of Marthas good things originally but her's was a napkin laid over the sholders with the eylet in the center which is a quicker solution. Either way it keeps dust off. A good thing for sure!
