Remember back in June when I wrote a post on my favourite book at the time, The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker by Aby Garvey and Wendy Smedley? Well it's still a firm favourite and I keep bringing it out and flipping through the pages for inspiration.
I also told you about one of the authors, Aby's, fun and inspiring blog Creative Organizing.
Ever since I stumbled upon her blog and then her book Aby has been a heroine of mine. She is funny and her organizing is both pretty, practical and inspirational. Not many can pull that off, at least not to my standards :)
Guess what?! Aby reads my blog!!! (Hi Aby !) Don't you love it when somebody you admire likes you back? I had noticed a coupIe of comments but yesterday I got the sweetest e-mail from her saying she reads what I write and enjoys it... Made my day I can tell you that!
So of course I immediately e-mailed her back (blushing of course) and amongst other things we talked about the on-line organizing class she has coming up next week. It is such a great idea! Wish I would have come up with that. You basically sign on for six lessons over four weeks and during that time you learn about how to edit your belongings, how to store your things and how to stay organized afterwards too. All the while there is a forum where you meet your fellow pupils and can share your experiences and your assigments and can discuss your organizing problems. Aby is ofcourse on hand to guide you along the way during the whole process. Like I said, I wish I had come up with that idea :)
I love online classes. As I posted a few weeks ago I'm attending one now. I take a Photoshop class which is set up in a similar way as Aby's class. The pace is a little fast though (a new lesson every day for a month...) and I think Aby's set up is probably more in tune with the way we are all so busy and can use a break in between lessons. I also love the forum part of my class. It's so much fun seeing the other's before's and after's and posting my own attempts too and getting comments on them. It's also great to have your instructor there to guide you along when you get stuck.
I think I'm pretty well organized myself so I won't be taking Aby's class this time, although it would have been so much fun had I had time for it. There's always more to learn! But here's a great thing!
Aby is offering you my sweet readers (I still get excited when I realize I have readers :) a $ 25 discount if you would like to attend her upcoming class! That works out to be 33% off her regular price! You can find the all the info on it here. Be sure to mention the discount code CHEZL at the checkout and you will, I'm sure, have the best time and learn so much! Oh, and the offer is open to all nationalities. The class is in English but anyone is welcome to attend!
Thank you so much Aby!
