I couldn't resist showing you my new broom for the front of the house. Would have been a very short post though so here are some more outdoor details from around our house.
Our house is old but the drainage away from the house is still ok as opposed to a lot of other houses in the area. We are lucky to be on the top of a hill so rain water ends up further down the street... If it rains really hard though we want it really away from the house so we built these shutes out of timber. They work really well and the water is redirected.
Here's another one, hidden under a black currant bush. And euugghhh, look at the snails on the wall. I h a t e snails. I hate slugs even more, but I hate snails.
We were in a concrete casting frenzy some years ago and made lots of different thing, like planters, spheres etc. My favourit is this cast rhubarb leaf.
This is the window in our garage workshop. It was really annoying when the light was on in the garage that anyone walking in the street could see everything going on in there and the sometime mess which occurs when you build things. I added frosted adhesive film to the window. I used a rotary cutter to cut five holes so when we are inside we can at least peek out but you can't really see in unless you get really really close and on to our property.
Taxi drivers and new postmen love our house number. They keep telling us that they are often driving around with no clue as to which house is which because a lot of houses have no numbers on them. We made ours out of MDF. Simple enough with it being a seven.
That's all for now! See you tomorrow!
