Sorry to keep you waiting... Here are finally some instructions to the window box I showed in an earlier post. I wanted to wait until I had replanted them. Here's the one below the kitchen window.
There's one at the back of the house too but not in connection to a window. This one is placed so I can see it from my favourite armchair inside.
I won't put any measurements because it depends on the size of box you want. To make it a simple project consider using planks of wood that are a good dimension to begin with so two pieces equal the height you want the box to be. That way you only need to cut the lengths.
For a longer box like the one by our kitchen window it's a good idea to add a brace on the inside down the middle too so it won't sag.
This is the view from underneath. Leave a little gap between the planks there so the box doesn't get water logged.
View from the top. After painting the outside and an inch or so down the inside I used a clear plastic sheet and stapled it to the inside and punched a few holes at the botton by the gap in between the planks. Sorry about the mess inside, but once it's planted you can't see it :)
