Over here in Sweden people tend to decorate their Christmas tree the day before Christmas Eve, on the 23rd. I know a lot of Americans do their trees right after Thanksgiving. We're sort of in between. I put our tree and lights up yesterday evening and we're decorating it later on tonight. I'm always eager to put it up, but on the 26th I'm already eager to take it down...
This year I considered a real tree after having had our white one for two years but in the end thought of the environment and of money so we're having a white Christmas yet again.
Last year the decorations were almost all bought but this year I dug up a box of home made decorations that we made ten years ago when we first celebrated Christmas at our house. The letters at the top represent the first letters of our names, mine, Martin's, Wille's, Martin's sister's, parent's and my mom's. I'd forgotten about the pipe cleaner one's. Can you spot Santa's glasses? There's an angel's clothes hanger too but you can't see it in this photo. Wille had a dinosaur period in his life at the age where most boys do so of course there are glittered Brachiosauruses and a T-rex.
I keep these decorations in an old shoe box. Took a long piece of paper, the width of the box and accordeon folded it into a lot of pleats and the decorations are kept in between the folds. Keeps them separated and untangled.
Mini and Bonus helped out with the home made sequin garlands. They are such good kitties!
