I can't knit! I seriously can't. I know some of you out there are knitters and I'm in awe of you!
Back in the early 80's when knitting was also in fashion I was in my late teens and to my mom's horror (she knew what was coming) I bought yarn and a pattern for a cowl neck sweater in pink and brown. My mom knew immediately that I wouldn't finish it. Needless to say I gave up after I'd only made half of the back piece and had unraveled even that way too many times and mom came to the rescue. I haven't knitted since. It's just not for me. I wish it were but no.
I do loooooove hand knits and was super lucky to do a swap with Ashley (Edit:from Richmond, Virginia, in the US) who happens to be a knitter! She on the other hand loves to knit and is extremely able!!
In exchange for some little things she wished for I received he loveliest parcel ever! A black merino wool hat and the cutest baby blue wool socks! With temperatures here having been -12 centigrades / 10 Fahrenheit and me always being cold they have so perfect. Last night I even slept with the socks on, on top of my cotton socks in which my fleece pj's were tucked... I was not cold last night! And no I wasn't wearing the hat. I could have, it's soft enough, but for the sake of my marriage I didn't.
I immediately urged Ashley to open an Etsy shop so I could buy more. An Etsy shop is in the making but being the super busy lady she is it will take a while to get started so I want to take this opportunity to let you know that Ashley does take commissioned orders! Yay! The wool socks are US $25 and the merino wool hat US $30. Besides from hats and socks she can knit other things too. Just send her an e-mail to makeway4ducklings(at)gmail(dot)com and let her know what you are interested in and she'll e-mail an offer back to you.
Today was my first Friday "off". The sun was shining and life is good! Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you again on Monday!
