I don't have a huge amount of clothes but I'm definitely one of those people who wears 20% of their clothes 80% of the time.
My procedure when purging is to take the stacks out one by one, try everything on, toss what doesn't fit well, isn't liked and whatever is too worn and torn.
I had a lot in the worn and torn category this time. It seems that the polo shirts I bought in bulk all passed their wear-by-date in one fell swoop.
On the stool is one of the stacks still to be tried on, on the floor some of the discards and those little stacks on the desk are the things I'm keeping, neatly refolded.
I've worked in retail for so many years that I find it really hard not to stack garments from white at the top to dark at the bottom. I do realise though that I will be ruining my neat stacks tomorrow if I do because during winter I tend to wear more darks. So I've been a big girl and stacked according to most loved and most-likely-to-wear.
I gave Martin's side the folding treatment too. As you can see Mister has some ironing to do. Each empty hanger represents a clean shirt in the humongous ironing pile in the basement. Also don't worry, he's got more clothes than this, the rest were in his suitcase. This was taken while he and Wille were away. Actually Martin has more clothes than I do.
Refreshingly neat and tidy if I do say so myself.
