We're back from NYC

We're back! We're jet lagged. Oh boy, we had the best time ever. It was hot, it was humid but it was awesome.


I'll tell you more tomorrow. Still wearing my travel outfit, desperately need a shower, a glass of wine and my bed.


As I unpacked Wille (best traveling buddy ever) and Martin started assembling one of our purchases, a Chrysler Building 3-D kit.

Donna, a reader, insisted on sending me a gift card of some sort a while back and after saying "that's totally unnecessary" a couple of times I ended up accepting one at Barnes & Noble's. 

We had such a good time picking and choosing. Aside from the Chrysler Building kit we also got one with the Empire State Building and the White House as well as a human body pop-up book, some magazines and our favorite, Christoph Niemann's "I Lego N.Y". Thank you so much Donna!

All in all, a great trip! We're pooped. And broke. All in a good way :).

Ps. I won!!! Can you believe it? I won the Panduro Concrete Challenge! Found out when I read my e-mails after returning home. Wohooo!!! Panduro, here I come, 4000 kronor / $500 gift card in hand!

Easter Craft Part 2 + OMG!

Perhaps you already saw this and my overexcited tweet the other day but I was and still am so excited. I was reading my e-mails so try to picture me squealing in front of the lap top as I read one from the craft department at Martha Stewart Living! Wheee!

Morgan Levine who blogs at the Craft Dept Blog asked if she could post about Wille's and my egg crafts. WHAT!!? Well, yes, please do! I have to say that since I started blogging this is definitely one of the highlights, a message from the mother ship!

And speaking of ships here are two more egg vessels. Martin and Wille finished theirs yesterday. Very Jetsons.

New Look

Stop, don't leave, you're in the right place, I just did a bit of reorganizing and Bonus helped out!

Anyways here's the new and hopefully improved deal.

* New Banner. A huge THANK YOU goes to Ann-Louise who turned a hopeless photo taken in virtual Swedish winter darkness into a fresh banner. I so owe you one A-L!

* A Nav bar. It's that strip you see at the top and when clicking on it you'll get magically transferred to pages of possible interest. Some items up there were in my sidebar before like the about page and links to Flickr, Twitter, my shop, my Amazon store etc  but I've added some new stuff too such as all the organizing posts in one place and all the how-tos in another. I've also gathered press and mentions on a brag page of it's own.

* That little orange tab to the right is my new search button. It will follow you down when scrolling so it'll always be easy to locate. When testing it I also got the impression that it works pretty well.

* Two columns instead of three feels less cluttered and if I do decide I need another one I'll add it on the right hand side.

* Larger photos. I hope you enjoy the larger sized photos. I won't get away with blur any longer will I?

I'll probably still need to tweak some stuff in the coming days after publishing the new design but in the meantime please let me know what you think. Also please let me know if you find any weirdness going on with the new look.

When browsing the how-to and organizing pages don't hesitate to let me know if you feel a post is under the wrong headline or if I should change or add any headlines to make the posts you're looking for easier to locate. I'm all ears!

* EDIT: As a few of you have pointed out quite a few of the links aren't working on the how-to and organizing pages. I'll try and fix them ASAP, thank you!

* EDIT EDIT: That's going to take a little longer, probably all evening... haven't got a clue as to what happened with all those links on the how-to and organizing pages but most of them are simply... gone. Anywhoo, I'll let you know when I've redone the whole thing :)

Excitement x 2!

You guys will not believe this! Almost too much excitement in one day, I tell you.

 
EXCITEMENT NO 1

I won the paint competition! Wohoo!

I got a couple of comments on winning already two days ago from readers who saw it up on the site but hadn't heard from the people organizing it until yesterday.

The prize is a whopping 10 000 kronor ($1400) worth of paint and/or painter! I'll get the details on the prize after new year's but I'm hoping to be able to have the hallway walls painted (dingy from being closest to the street outside) and am also hoping to have a lot of trim and doors painted too. The stairs could use a coat and so could the downstairs hallway... Oooh! I can't wait and feel so lucky! Thank you all so much for voting for me!!!
