Thank you so much for all the sweet birthday wishes, both for my mom and my blog! I've taken all your comments to heart and will use them as inspiration for future posts. Later tonight I will enlist Wille to draw a lucky winner of a Chez Larsson surprise package.
Speaking of inspiration, I spent the weekend at my mom's in Skåne, in the southern part of Sweden. My uncle David and my cousin Janna were also there and I was completely inspired by both of them! My uncle is 14 years younger than my mom and he is an artist who was part of the hippie movement back in the 60's. He has lived all over the world since and boy has he some fun stories to tell. I laughed so hard that I nearly fell off my chair a couple of times at dinner!
Besides from being really funny he is also incredibly knowledgeable on a lot of topics and he is also very much into what is referred into bio-food in Germany (where he now lives). In Sweden we say Eco-food and I guess it's the same as what Americans call Organic. I was totally inspired by their family's food choices and will try to make better choices myself when shopping for food. When he spoke about food it made me realise that although Martin cooks everything from scratch we still buy some stuff that could easily be substituted with the organic and healthier version.
Other inspiration from this weekend can be seen in these photos. We visited Fredriksdal, an open air museum with a farm, gardens (french, kitchen, rose, etc), buildings and a theatre. It was still early in the season (and freezing weather...)and a lot was still to come in terms of bloom but it's a beautiful place to visit if you are in Helsingborg.
