I've been dying to try glass etching!
I first saw it in a Martha Stewart Living mag many years ago but there was no etching cream to be found over here in Sweden for ages. Then last week I read Lindzi's post on the subject which had a link to a Swedish web store who sell it and I immediately placed an order.
This is so much fun!!! You start out by cleaning your surface. Then you add your design in self adhesive vinyl according to the instructions. I didn't have any good vinyl so I used sticky scrap book letters and regular tape.
It says to use a special squeegee but I used a bone folder instead to carefully rub down my letters to make sure they stuck properly.
Once you're happy with the design you cover it completely with the etching cream and let sit for 15 minutes.
When the 15 minutes are up you can return the cream to the jar as it's reuseable. I only used a little so I decided to rinse it all off at once. After the cream has come off the tape and letters are peeled off too.
And here you have the finished product. Pretty cool if I do say so myself!
